Fort Stamford is a 5-acre historic site established during the American Revolution as a strategic permanent fortification to protect the Stamford-Greenwich area from attack by British forces. The fort was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1975, and some of the mounds from the original structure and markers commemorating the fort can still be seen today. The property also borders the Goodbody Garden, which is maintained by the Stamford Garden Club and used for events and weddings.
