Scalzi Park is the largest recreational area within the Stamford city limits. It features tennis, basketball, volleyball courts, and baseball and softball fields, running and hiking trails as well as a bocce ball arena. It also houses Cubeta Stadium, which is home to the Stamford American Legion baseball squad. Skateboarders and inline skaters attended several design meetings between December 2004 and January 2006, and ultimately chose a cement skate park featuring bowls.
