Whole Foods Finally Opening Dec 12th, 2024

It sure took awhile, but Stamford’s Whole Foods announced their grand opening for Dece 12th, 2024 at ( a.m. Located at the former Lord & Taylor building at 110 High Rodge Road, the Whole Foods fills a location that has evolved from the office park centric domain of Stamford’s corporate heyday, to a more suburban apartment and condo neighborhood. Whole Foods should fit right in.

The new store plans to offer more than 1,000 local products from 250+ Northeast-based suppliers, similar to what is found at the Darien, Greenwich and Westport locations. The press release included the following details:

  • A vibrant produce section, evoking a fresh, organic market feel, with an array of certified organic, conventional and Sourced for Good produce, including potatoes and squashes from Row 7 Seed Co., salad varieties from Gotham Greens and microgreens from Gilberties Organics.
  • Specialty department dedicated to celebrating cheesemakers and artisan producers. Local items include mozzarella from Lioni Latticini and pasta from Nuovo Pasta. The cheese counter is overseen by trained cheesemongers who can offer recommendations for any occasion.
  • Curated grocery section filled with private label favorites from 365 by Whole Foods Market and local products, including tortillas from Vista Hermosa, grassfed milk from Family Farmstead Dairy and artisan loaves from Heidelberg Bread Company. New local items launching with the Stamford location include plant-based cookie dough from Doughy, oat and pistachio milks from Edenesque and kitchari from Divya’s.
  • Full-service seafood counter featuring only sustainable wild-caught or Responsibly Farmed seafood and a large selection of ready-to-cook seafood. Local seafood options include smoked salmon from Catsmo Artisan Smokehouse, oysters from West Robins Oysters and seafood cakes from Lagniappe Foods.
  • Full-service meat counter, with butchers available to cut steaks and poultry to order. Features include dry-aged beef and sausage made in-house. Local suppliers include Briarwood Cattle Farm, which will be exclusive to this store at the time of opening.
  • Extensive selection of more than 220 craft beers, including products from more than 30 local breweries including Athletic Brewing Co.Two Roads Brewing and Kent Falls Brewing Co.
  • Bakery department local options include artisan pitas from Angel Bakeries, muffins from Abe’s and assorted desserts from By the Way Bakery.
